Project 1 checked off!

Okay so I took initiative today and finished something I've been putting off for two months, I finished the wreath. What you think?

Fall brings a lot of emotions for me: panic, excitement, and borderline depression because of all the craziness and happenings that occur during the colder months. I'm always in a state of constant unrest for one reason or the other, maybe because I'm always preparing for something. This year has brought a lot of things to me good and bad and I'm grateful for them all. So with that said I've taken on a lot of projects and I really didn't realize what I was doing to be honest. First project is a craft project for one of my new favorite people. She's an elementary teacher and her and her family do so much for me and mine I decided I was going to make her this for her class:

My second Project is I want to open up my own Etsy store, in my store I plan on having t-shirts, tutus, pants, and accessories for kids to go along with my party planning items. No paper products as of yet. But this is a slow start as well. But I guess anything worth having is worth the time and effort. But watch out for us in the next coming month, we plan to knock your socks off.

Here's the wreath tutorial:

Big Top Cookie!!!

So introducing the real cookie monster "ME"! I saw this party on Kara's Party Ideas and there was this big ole cookie on the dessert table. I love cookies no doubt about it and with the holidays coming up you better believe I will be indulging. I think this will be the first year I actually let the kids make their own, usually I make them myself, but I'm thinking I'm gonna be adventurous. Well back to the party, on the table they had this giant cookie and of course I said gotta have it. It was a Big Top Cookie.
So I just had to have one, for parties, for school events, and just for me... I love it! Then I proceeded to look for one online, here's the cheapest I could find online HERE. But you better believe I kept looking. Well yesterday while on my way to the doctor's office for the baby we stopped in a store called Five and Below, and low and behold right there next to the Big Top Donut was my Cookie pan. You can't beat that. Now I know your wondering did I get the Doughnut pan too, no, I'll leave that to someone else.

Having a glamorous swap party, auction style here is the invite:
I've been trying to have this party for a while and just kept putting it on the back burner but decided it was time to go ahead and do it. I'm doing mine auction style like i said but if you too want to get rid of some things that you rally haven't worn or simply cannot wear anymore this may be a good idea for you as well. With things so economically tight getting free stuff is always a plus. Here are some places to get started if you want to know what a swap party is and how to throw one:

Elmo and Abby Cadabby

So the day finally came and Nina's party was a hit. The turn out was not what was expected but everyone that came had a delightful time. Me being the perfectionist that I am was working until guest arrived. This was a learning experience for me, just the beginning of what I hope to be a very great endeavor. There are some lessons that I learned and some things that I feel we pulled off.

The big cupcake was homemade and we attempted to make the wrapper out of candy but it kept cracking however still delicious. The small cupcakes were so good!!!

Here's a look at the whole dessert table:

A lesson I learned in my scramble was hire a photographer. These pictures came out clear but they don't have any finesse. Good lesson I think. Here are more pictures of the party and my designs.

The cutest banner

We made the hats but someone took the O off.

The bouncy houses were so much fun

The party was really fun despite my perfectionist insanity, just ask the birthday girl herself.

Happy Birthday to me!!!!

It's my birthday and for today my one wish is to get some sleep. Yay!!!

Home Space - Ohh and Ahh!!!

Along with planning parties, I'm also a makeup artist and even though this blog is mostly about parties and party related things there will be other things on here as I am all over the place sometimes and I just love all things shiny, glittery, and all over the place like I am. I'm also a lover of interior design so don't be surprised if you see things that have to do with that as well. I think that fashion, interiors, and style all have something to do with celebration so they are all tied in with each other. If you are a lover of those things as well as DIY and craft then you'll love my new post on things other then parties. Here's the break down:

  • Interiors - Home Space
  • Makeup - Pretty Face
  • Fashion - Fashion Case
So with that being said check out what I'm going to be doing in the spring and feel free to copy as I will be. I was on Curbly, a design community, this is one of my favorite websites for ideas and I stumbled across the cutest room fan redo. If you want to see the cutest fan ever go HERE. Here's the before and after!

Sesame Street Party Update- Rant, Rant, Rant!!!!

Ok here's the sitch! Being as though this is my first personalized party I see that I have a lot to learn. My first thought of "oh I can do this myself" has long gone out of the window and now I'm back tracking. Last night as I proceeded to put the printables together I realized how much help I'm going to need. Before I get to the nonsense lets take a look at all the things that I have prepared for this party or will be preparing:

  • Tutu
  • Personalized T-Shirt
  • Hair bows
  • Banner
  • Invitations
  • cupcake toppers
  • water bottle labels
  • a number of other printables
  • cake pops
  • marshmallow pops
  • candy covered treats
This is just to name a few, everything isn't named but you get the point. I took on a lot, every time I would say that I was getting someone to make something for me, I would hear oh you can do that yourself or I will help. Where is all the HELP!!!! Well I did get some help, and that came in the form of my little cousin. "Bless her heart", seeing that phrase you know this is when the nonsense starts. I asked her to cut out and assemble my banner for the party. Me having a vision of what is going on and what is should look like was lost in translation to her because I didn't tell her exactly how to punch the holes in and where they should go. I guess I should have been more specific, but I assumed to much. Let's just say that there are two too many holes in each of my pennants, I plan on taking pictures of this party as this is my first. But I will be improvising. Hopefully everything will work out. Okay, well that's the end of this rant this time, I'm sure with upcoming events I'll be back. Now back to your regularly scheduled party blog.

P.S. I will be updating you with my frustrations as well so you can get the feel of what it takes to put these parties together with me. Hope you enjoy it and find some humor in my PAIN... Keep the party going!

Sesame street party!!!

If you are attending Nina's party here's a sneak peek of whats to come:

This is a not the exact tutorial I copied but it's certainly cute and sweet.

Bow, Bows, and more Bows!!!!

I finally found the first product that I'm going to put in my Etsy store, hair bows. In this party planning journey I found that there are a lot of different things that I would love to do bows, t-shirts, tutu's, printables, and personalized plates, but I cannot do it all. I've decided I will take it one party at a time and I don't have to do every part of everything so I'm choosing to do bows and be good at that. Here are the ones I did for Nina's Elmo party:

Here's my new inspiration, I love these tutorials.

Sesame Street Party pt 1

As I mentioned earlier I started way back in June planning my youngest daughter birthday party. Since then I have gone through three different themes. First Dora Candyland, then Ladybugs because I saw the most adorable ladybug themed supplies on Birthday Express, and finally we settled on Abby and Elmo from Sesame Street. It's been a long rode for me because I have no graphic design experience, but with the help of some crafty bloggers and their freebies I've been coming along and have managed to put together my own customized party printables, but I still have a long way to go.

The first part of this post I'm going to show off my shirt making skills. I plan on opening up my own up my own Etsy store eventually, but I'm still sharpening up my skills. In the meantime I will be displaying my creations on here and if anyone wants to reach out to me and get anything they can reach me through the blog.

The T-Shirt design

The Birthday TuTu

This is the first in what will hopefully be a long business and life venture!

Pee Wee's and Pinwheels

I started this blog basically because I wanted to display what I was learning how to do. Back in June 2011, I started thinking about themes and such for my soon to be 2 year old birthday party. The initial them was going to be based off of the game Candyland, but my daughter is in love with anything toddler right now and she especially loves Dora and Elmo. So my search began. I was looking for Dora's Candyland themed party supplies.

No one seemed to have this combination precisely so I was going to go on etsy to special order it. As I started to browse the site I started to see things I felt that I could do myself. I had the time on my hands so I figured it's never too late to learn something new. So now I'm on a journey and I plan to bring you all with me as I begin planning events, starting with my youngest child's party, and having fun as I do so. Hopefully other people will submit their events as well and we can display our creations together for the world to see.

I'm also a makeup artist if anyone is in need of one, please respond to this post. Thanks!

Ryan's Spiderman Party

Ok so it's my first design and it's kinda plain but still festive. One of my girlfriends is giving her youngest son a 5th birthday party and the theme this year is of course SPIDERMAN! She couldn't find a customizable banner so I made her one, as well as him invitations. Here is the examples.
