Having a glamorous swap party, auction style here is the invite:
I've been trying to have this party for a while and just kept putting it on the back burner but decided it was time to go ahead and do it. I'm doing mine auction style like i said but if you too want to get rid of some things that you rally haven't worn or simply cannot wear anymore this may be a good idea for you as well. With things so economically tight getting free stuff is always a plus. Here are some places to get started if you want to know what a swap party is and how to throw one:
- Rachael Ray

So the day finally came and Nina's party was a hit. The turn out was not what was expected but everyone that came had a delightful time. Me being the perfectionist that I am was working until guest arrived. This was a learning experience for me, just the beginning of what I hope to be a very great endeavor. There are some lessons that I learned and some things that I feel we pulled off.
The big cupcake was homemade and we attempted to make the wrapper out of candy but it kept cracking however still delicious. The small cupcakes were so good!!!
Here's a look at the whole dessert table:
A lesson I learned in my scramble was hire a photographer. These pictures came out clear but they don't have any finesse. Good lesson I think. Here are more pictures of the party and my designs.
The cutest banner
We made the hats but someone took the O off.
The bouncy houses were so much fun
The party was really fun despite my perfectionist insanity, just ask the birthday girl herself.

Along with planning parties, I'm also a makeup artist and even though this blog is mostly about parties and party related things there will be other things on here as I am all over the place sometimes and I just love all things shiny, glittery, and all over the place like I am. I'm also a lover of interior design so don't be surprised if you see things that have to do with that as well. I think that fashion, interiors, and style all have something to do with celebration so they are all tied in with each other. If you are a lover of those things as well as DIY and craft then you'll love my new post on things other then parties. Here's the break down:
- Interiors - Home Space
- Makeup - Pretty Face
- Fashion - Fashion Case
So with that being said check out what I'm going to be doing in the spring and feel free to copy as I will be. I was on Curbly, a design community, this is one of my favorite websites for ideas and I stumbled across the cutest room fan redo. If you want to see the cutest fan ever go HERE. Here's the before and after!
Ok here's the sitch! Being as though this is my first personalized party I see that I have a lot to learn. My first thought of "oh I can do this myself" has long gone out of the window and now I'm back tracking. Last night as I proceeded to put the printables together I realized how much help I'm going to need. Before I get to the nonsense lets take a look at all the things that I have prepared for this party or will be preparing:
- Personalized T-Shirt
- Hair bows
- cupcake toppers
- water bottle labels
- a number of other printables
- cake pops
- marshmallow pops
- candy covered treats
This is just to name a few, everything isn't named but you get the point. I took on a lot, every time I would say that I was getting someone to make something for me, I would hear oh you can do that yourself or I will help. Where is all the HELP!!!! Well I did get some help, and that came in the form of my little cousin. "Bless her heart", seeing that phrase you know this is when the nonsense starts. I asked her to cut out and assemble my banner for the party. Me having a vision of what is going on and what is should look like was lost in translation to her because I didn't tell her exactly how to punch the holes in and where they should go. I guess I should have been more specific, but I assumed to much. Let's just say that there are two too many holes in each of my pennants, I plan on taking pictures of this party as this is my first. But I will be improvising. Hopefully everything will work out. Okay, well that's the end of this rant this time, I'm sure with upcoming events I'll be back. Now back to your regularly scheduled party blog.
P.S. I will be updating you with my frustrations as well so you can get the feel of what it takes to put these parties together with me. Hope you enjoy it and find some humor in my PAIN... Keep the party going!
